Detroit Technical Equipment Company, an Authorized Montel Distributor serving Michigan, is pleased to announce that it has been selected by Frank Rewold and Son, Inc. to supply a new Montel motorized mobile storage shelving system for the JHP Pharmaceuticals New Laboratory Building in Rochester, Michigan.
To accommodate JHP Pharmaceuticals’ need for efficient storage solutions with the long and short term storage of pharmaceutical products as required by the FDA, Detroit Technical Equipment Company will supply, deliver, and install Montel’s WIRED® high-density powered mobile storage system and Montel’s SmartShelf® 4-post hybrid shelving system.
Due to JHP Pharmaceuticals’ preference and requirements for safety, performance, and flexibility, Montel’s designed riveted-bonding construction for the carriages was chosen. Safety features will include infrared foot-level safety beams, aisle-entry people counters, and electronic overload protection. The mobile system will interface with the building’s fire alarm system, lighting system, power generator or building management system for security and fire protection. Versatile 4-post shelving units will be mounted on the mobile carriages, allowing space optimization that exceeds the industry standards.

Montel, a global leader of high-density mobile storage shelving system solutions, is pleased to announce that it has been selected by Tabufile Atlantic Ltd as the prime sub-contractor to supply the electrical moveable high density shelving systems for Environment Canada Library and Records Services in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Montel will also provide installation support and electrical start-up assistance.
The Environment Canada current file load in the Library is 21,600 total linear inches. The Records file load is 5,940 total linear inches. Wanting to implement a new library storage system and maximize space capacity, the two new and separate electrical moveable high density shelving systems required will house these 2 separate collections.
The awarded contract to Montel will involve the supply of its WIRED® high-density powered mobile storage system and SmartShelf® 4-post hybrid shelving units. Complying with HRSDC Requirements for electrical movable high density shelving installed in federal facilities, security features will include for every aisle an infrared beam at foot-level on each moveable carriage (both sides). In addition, every aisle requires a signal to indicate occupation on each side of the aisle which will prevent movement/change to another aisle until the open aisle is cleared. The control pad will confirm when carriages are either in locked or unlocked mode, and there will be no override capability.
